2006 ODS Rule Changes

Late Model Stock Car Division

500 Carburetor
Late Model Stock Cars with built engines will be permitted to run the Holley 500 HP carburetor, part number 080583-1.  This carburetor must remain as manufactured.  The only changes allowed will be to change jets, power valve and the screw-in air bleeds in the top of the carburetor.

Cars running a built engine with a 500 carburetor will be required to weigh a minimum of 3100 pounds with a minimum right side weight of 1400 pounds.

Cars running the crate engine will be required to weigh a minimum of 3000 pounds with a minimum right side weight of 1350 pounds.

Any cars running a built engine with a 350 carburetor will be required to weigh a minimum of 3000 pounds with a minimum right side weight of 1350 pounds.

After the fifth race of the season the engine/weight combinations will be reevaluated and any adjustments necessary to properly balance the cars will be made at that time.

Exhaust System
Rule 3.3 will be modified to permit exhaust to exit through the door, as follows:  "Tailpipe must turn to face the ground if exited under the car, exhaust may exit through the door above frame rail."


Grand Stock Division

Exhaust System
Rule 9.3 will be modified to permit exhaust to exit through the door, as follows: "Tailpipe must turn to face the ground if exited under the car, exhaust may exit through the door above frame rail."

Distributor
May use HEI Performance or Mel's distributor.  No rev chip is permitted in either distributor.


Mini-Modified Division

No rule changes.


Speedway Sportsman Division

No rule changes.


U-CAR Division

Drivers Age
The age requirement for drivers in the U-Car division will be 15 years of age.

Levels of Competition
U-Car division competition will be conducted on two separate levels for the 2006 season; U-Car Experienced (driver) and U-Car Inexperienced (driver).  An experienced driver is defined as one that has previously driven in any division from Legends and higher.  An inexperienced driver is defined as one that has driven in nothing higher than Go-Karts.

Neck Collar
Rule 14.5 will be modified to require use of neck collar, as follows:  "Driver's suit, neck collar, gloves and shoes are REQUIRED.  See ODS Rules for All Divisions, Section 6."

Spec Tire
Rule 8.2 will be modified to require use of a track "spec" tire, as follows: Sumitomo HTR 200 195/60R13, R14, or R15 tires will be required on all U-Cars.
