I bet you didn’t know that right around the corner there is a
NASCAR-Sanctioned Speedway that has featured NASCAR racing
action in our Metropolitan Area for over 55 years. YES! It’s
Old Dominion Speedway in Manassas, Virginia, the area’s only
NASCAR and SBRA-Sanctioned Motorsports facility.
Almost every Friday night (Drag Strip) and Saturday night
(NASCAR Speedway), Old Dominion is racing. Do you remember
the way racing was? The Petty’s, Allison’s, Waltrip’s,
Burton’s, just to name a very few, have all raced at Old
Dominion.
In association with Whelen Engineering, our Speedway is
hosting a very special evening. Whelen has provided a special
sponsorship to Old Dominion for our NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series
Race occurring on September 4th. Whelen is a large designer
and manufacturer of specialty, caution, strobe and safety
lighting products that many of our local municipalities and
government agencies use on their cars, trucks, rescue,
specialty vehicles, equipment, and in buildings. As part of
our sponsorship agreement with Whelen, Old Dominion Speedway
agreed to extend a special invitation to our local
municipalities and government workers. As a government or
municipality employee, you can come to Old Dominion Speedway
on September 4th, enjoy pre-race activities and watch a
breathtaking NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series Race and great
fireworks display for half price.
That’s right, adult admission will be only $7.50 for any
government or municipal worker attending the September 4th
race. Proof of government/municipal employment is required.

firemen and municipal workers. Be part of the pre-race
excitement ODS style including local fire and police
demonstrations and award winning fireworks after the race.
