2000 RULES AND REGULATIONS

COMPETING MODELS: Two-door, American sedan production models, 1982 through 2000. No trucks or station wagons are allowed.

NOTE: 1995 - 1996 CAMARO WILL HAVE TO MEET TRACK INSPECTOR'S MEASUREMENTS TO COMPETE. MEASUREMENT WILL COME FROM STOCK PRODUCTION CÁR. ANY QUESTIONS SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO TRACK OFFICIAL IN CHARGE OF GRAND STOCK DIVISION.

NOTE: SAME RULES APPLY TO 1995 - 1996 FIREBIRD AS MENTIONED IN CAMARO RULES ABOVE.

NOTE: ONLY CARS REGISTERED AS GRAND STOCKS WILL BE ALLOWED TO COMPETE IN GRAND STOCK DIVISION.

BODIES: All bodies must be mounted as per NASCAR Rule Book. Same as LMSC. All measurements must be in accordance to LMSC measurements. FLAT HOODS ONLY. (See back of NASCAR Rule Book for measurements.) Exceptions: 1995 Chevrolet Camaro, 1995 Pontiac Firebird, 1995 Dodge Avenger.

WINDSHIELD AND REAR WINDOW: As per NASCAR Rule Book. Same as LMSC.

FLOOR PAN: As per NASCAR Rule Book. Same as LMSC.

FRAMES: Must meet NASCAR Rule Book guidelines for construction and safety. Same as LMSC.

GROUND CLEARANCE: Ground to frame clearance will be measured at the closest point to the ground on the left side of the car. Clearance must be at least four (4) inches from the ground.

ROLL CAGE: Must meet NASCAR Rule Book guidelines for construction and safety. Same as LMSC.

WHEELBASE: All cars must compete at a one hundred five (105) inch wheelbase. When measuring wheelbase, one (1) side of car must be the allowable wheelbase measurement. The other side of car must not exceed one half (1/2) inch plus (+) or minus (-) allowable measurement.

TREADWIDTH: A maximum allowable treadwidth of sixty four and one half (64-1/2) inches on both front and rear. A tolerance of one half (1/2) inch between front and rear will be allowed as long as maximum width does not exceed the allowable measurement.

SUSPENSION: All A-frame, trailing arms, springs, shocks, sway bars, etc. must meet guidelines set forth in the NASCAR Rule Book. Same as LMSC.

WEIGHT: All cars must maintain a minimum weight of three thousand one hundred (3100) pounds total weight, with a minimum right side weight of one thousand four hundred (1400) pounds with driver.

SHOCKS: Racing shocks may be used and mounted in any location. Must be mounted either inside or outside of frame rail. Both sides must be the same.

SAFETY HUB: As per NASCAR Rule Book. Same as LMSC.

WHEELS: Must be aftermarket steel wheel. (Example : Bart) - Wheel diameter will be fifteen (15) inches. Wheel width will be eight (8) inches as measured between the beads. All wheels must have the same offset.

TIRES: The Grand Stock Division will be assigned a track tire that will be used by all competing in the division. NO TIRE CONDITIONER OR SOFTENER MAY BE USED IN ANY MANNER ON TIRES !!!!!

BRAKES: Stock, single puck disc brakes with stock type calipers will be allowed for both front and rear. Master cylinder and reservoirs must be mounted on the engine side of the firewall. No adjustment from the inside of the car. Can use aftermarket rotor and hubs.

ENGINES: Engines allowed are:

GENERAL MOTORS - 350 CID

FORD - 351 CID (Windsor only, no Clevelands)

CHRYSLER - Must use GM or Ford motor rules.

NOTE: ANY ENGINE LISTED ABOVE CAN BE USED IN ANY CAR.

ENGINE BLOCK: Must be stock OEM part number. No aftermarket block will be allowed. No angle cutting of deck. Piston to deck clearance will be zero (0). Maximum overbore will be sixty  (60) thousandths.

ENGINE LOCATION: All cars must have steel firewall, of which no part is set back further than the bottom of the windshield. All GM engines must be located so the center of the number two (2) spark plug hole is in line with the center of the upper ball joint. Center of crankshaft must be center line of tread width. Ford engines must be the same. Twelve (12) inches from the center of the crankshaft to the ground.

CYLINDER HEADS: Cylinder heads may not be ported or polished in any manner. No angle milling of cylinder head on intake or block surface will be permitted. Valve angle in head casting may not be changed. No high flow valves allowed. No titanium valves, retainers, or valve springs will be permitted. Valve springs and retainers must be steel.

CHRYSLER - Must use GM or Ford motor rules.

PISTONS: Piston must be aluminum. Piston must be flat top with two (2) or four (4) valve reliefs permitted.

CRANKSHAFT: OEM stock CÁST crankshaft for engine being used. No steel crankshafts will be allowed. No polishing or lightening of crankshaft will be permitted. Stroke length must not be altered.

CONNECTING RODS: OEM stock rods. No lightening or polishing will be permitted. Rod length for cubic displacement may not be changed !!! Only stock rod length and journal diameter will be permitted.

CAMSHAFT: Camshaft may be hydraulic or solid. Flat tappets only. No roller camshafts allowed. Camshaft lift must not exceed a maximum lift of .550 thousandths to be measured at valve retainer with the valve lash set at "0" lash.

DISTRIBUTOR: Stock distributor will be permitted. Electronic ignition system using stock, over the counter, OEM is allowed. No MSD or any other similar system or distributor is allowed. Tachometers must be equipped with a quick disconnect for easy removal.

EXHAUST: Tubular steel exhaust headers are allowed. Same as LMSC. Exhaust pipe exiting header can be maximum three and one half (3 -1/2) inch diameter round pipe with a two (2) into one (1) collector with a three and one half (3-1/2) inch maximum MANDATORY Lobak Racing muffler and exit behind driver. No flat exhaust pipes are allowed. No internal baffles allowed inside exhaust pipes. Tailpipe must turn to face ground. No cross-over pipes. All pipes must be painted white.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS: Only stock distributor will be permitted. Electronic ignition using stock, over the counter OEM allowed. No MSD or similar type distributors allowed.  Tachometers must be equipped with a quick disconnect for easy removal.Car must have working starter. Battery must be as per NASCAR rule book. Same as LMSC.

RADIATORS: May be aluminum, such as Howe or Afco. Radiators must be mounted in a safe manner. All radiators must have a shroud covering the fan. Same as LMSC. NOTE: ALL CARS MUST BE  DUCT SO THAT ANY AIR COMING THROUGH GRILLE GOES THROUGH THE RADIATOR. Same as LMSC.

ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM: No electric cooling fans allowed.

WATER PUMP: Water pump impellers may be altered. Stock water pump only. No aluminum water pumps allowed.

FUEL PUMP: Must be stock type. No electric fuel pumps allowed.

FUEL: No mixing of racing fuel and pump gas permitted.

INTAKE MANIFOLDS: NO PORTING OR POLISHING IN ANY MANNER !!! No angle milling of any surface on manifold. No angle milling of carburetor spacer permitted.

G/M - Edelbrock Part # 2101

FORD - Edelbrock Part #2181

NOTE: ABSOLUTLEY NO ICING, COOLING, OR SOAKING OF ANY TYPE OR MANNER ON INTAKE, CARBURETOR, OR AIR FILTER WILL BE PERMITTED !!!!

CARBURETOR: Holley 2300 - two (2) barrel model #7448 ONLY !!! NO MODIFICATIONS TO CARBURETOR ALLOWED. No drilling or changing of any diameter in airbleeds, metering plates, throttle shafts, etc. No swapping of metering plates allowed. Choke butterfly may be removed. When removing choke linkage on side of carburetor, all holes must be filled with EPOXY.

All vacuum outlets must be removed and have steel plugs or Epoxy in place. Jets and power valves may be changed. All carburetors must use power valve. No block off plugs permitted.

NOTE: ANY CARBURETOR HELD FOR INSPECTION WILL BE IMPOUNDED FOR THE WEEK AND RETURNED THE FOLLOWING SATURDAY MORNING AT TRACK IF FOUND LEGAL.

CARBURETOR SPACER: Spacer must be solid aluminum, three quarters (3/4) of an inch thick, with two (2) one and one half (1-1/2) inch holes. No angle milling or modifications of any kind on spacer. A one (1) piece gasket measuring sixty five (65) thousandths must be installed between carburetor and spacer, and another one (1) piece gasket measuring sixty five (65) thousandths must be installed between manifold and spacer.

AIR CLEANER: The air cleaner must be a Moroso Part #65925. The height of air cleaner element will be four (4) inches for both G/M and Ford. A paper style air filter will be used at all times. NO DEVICES TO CONTROL AIR FLOW WITHIN AIR CLEANER WILL BE ALLOWED.

CARBURETOR CLAIM RULE: Seventy five (75) dollars to claim a carburetor. Only the driver can claim the carburetor. Claim fee must be presented to the Track Promoter or Race Director within ten (10) minutes after the checkered flag falls in the Grand Stock feature event. The only drivers that can claim a carburetor are the drivers that finish in the top five (5) of the evenings featured event. Only drivers finishing in the top five (5) are subject to carburetor claim. If you refuse to have your carburetor claimed, you will be put on a two (2) race suspension and lose your right to claim a carburetor for a CALENDAR year. You will also lose your points for that evening's event.

TRANSMISSION: Three (3) or four (4) speed standard transmission only. No aftermarket units permitted.

CLUTCH: A single or double disc clutch is allowed. (Example : Quartermaster) - Flywheel must be OEM diameter and design. No carbon fiber clutches allowed. Same as LMSC.

BELLHOUSING: Must be steel, blow-proof type.

DRIVESHAFT: Must be steel and painted white. Must be two and three quarters (2-3/4) or three (3) inches in diameter. Two (2) driveshaft loops made of one quarter (1/4) inch by two (2) inch steel must be installed. No aluminum driveshafts allowed.

REAR END: May use quick-change, nine (9) inch Ford type, or OEM with use of racing axles mandatory. Locker or spool carriers only. NO torque sensitive carriers allowed. Refer to NASCAR Rule Book for mounting procedures and component legality. Same as LMSC.

SAFETY: All safety standards must meet guidelines in NASCAR Rule Book.

FIRE CONTROL: As per NASCAR Rule Book. Same as LMSC.

FUEL TANK: As per NASCAR Rule Book. Same as LMSC.

SEAT: As per NASCAR Rule Book. Same as LMSC.

SEAT BELTS: Must be NASCAR approved type that includes left and right shoulder straps, as well as a lap belt. All three (3) straps must meet in a common connection and must be fastened to the roll cage on the opposite ends. As per NASCAR Rule Book. Same as LMSC.

HELMET: Must be ninety (90) Snell approved.

STEERING: Stock design must be retained in steering. No rack and pinion. Must have quick release steering wheel.

STEERING WHEEL: Must have quick disconnect metal coupling.

WINDOW SCREEN: As per NASCAR Rule Book. Same as LMSC.

IDENTIFICATION: All car numbers will be issued by Dave Menefee only. Numbers issued and not used during the current year WILL NOT be held for the following year. Any car that arrives at the race track with an unapproved car number will be changed if neccesary. Numbers must be at least eighteen (18) inches high and neatly painted on both sides of the car. A twenty-four (24) inch number must be painted on the roof. A five (5) inch number must be positioned in white in the upper right hand corner of the windshield to aid in lining up cars. Numbers must be painted in contrasting colors. No silver or gold foiled numbers will be permitted. Any number deemed unreadable by the scorers will be changed.

PRE-RACE INSPECTION: Any pre-race inspection failures for any infractions of these rules and specifications may result in not being permitted to compete. This is at the discretion of the Race Director. Substantial weight additions and/or rear of field starts could be imposed.

POST RACE INSPECTION: Any car found to be using illegal parts will forfeit any and all prize monies and points, plus any contingency monies earned for that event. Any illegal part found will be surrendered to the NASCAR Official in charge of the division. No equipment will be considered as having been approved by reason of having passed through inspection unobserved. Any equipment which does not conform to specifications or tolerances contained in the rule book will not be eligible for approval. All rules are subject to amendment at any time, when ample notice has been given in the interest of safety and competition. Pre-race inspections do not proclude post-race inspections.

PROTESTS: No protests accepted after ten (10) minutes from the drop of the checkered flag in the Grand Stock feature. Race track gets twenty (20) percent of all protest money. Protested item costs as follows:

CYLINDER HEADS - $200.00

CONNECTING RODS - $300.00

CRANKSHAFT - $500.00

TEAR DOWNS: Any driver or car owner refusing to tear down from NASCAR Officials for any reason will be put on a one (1) race suspension. The driver will be held responsible for refusal of tear down. The driver also loses all points accrued for that event. Refusal of tear down as a second offense will result in a loss of all points accrued for the season, and suspension for the remainder of the season. NASCAR Officials reserve the right to tear down at any time.
