Hot Rod Super Series Update 7/21/04

Due to early rain and bleak weather forecasts, the first Hot Rod Super Series race of July 18th was cancelled.  The Hot Rod Super Series will now be based on the four (4) remaining races.  Hot Rod Super Series dates are August 1, August 15, August 22 and September 26th.  Reducing the number of races  makes the competition and the Purse payment that much more attractive.

To sign up for the Super Series, you can call Old Dominion in advance at (703) 361-7753 or simply register at one of the Super Series races.

The Hot Rod Super Series is only at Old Dominion Speedway.

Introducing the Hot Rod Super Series

Old Dominion Speedway announced today a special program for its Drag Strip.  This special program was developed to encourage drag racers to experience Old Dominion as well as allow current racers an opportunity to make up races and win additional cash.  Old Dominion has added five (5) additional races named the Hot Rod Super Series.  These additional dates will be regular SBRA events with normal points counting towards the overall year-end point totals.  For these five (5) Hot Rod Super Series races, Old Dominion will keep separate points.  At the end of the Super Series, points will be tabulated from all classes: Super Pro, Footbrake and Motorcycle.  The winners purse (guaranteed) will be paid to the top eight (8) finishers (regardless of class) accumulating the greatest number of points from the five (5) Super Series Races.

SBRA Year-End Challenge

Old Dominion Speedway is proud to be part of the Region’s Southern Bracket Racing Association. SBRA, as it is commonly known, is a very special association of regional drag strips including Eastside Speedway, Colonial Beach, New London, and Natural Bridge, to name a few.

At the end of the season, SBRA sanctions a year-end challenge between its Regional Drag Strips at Eastside Speedway. This multi-day event showcases the best drag racers from each track in a no-holes barred shoot-out event to crown the regions best drag racer and best drag strip.

Media coverage includes television, radio and newspaper. This annual event at Eastside is a yearly sell-out, so don’t miss it! The Southern Bracket Racing Association limits participation to only Virginia’s best managed and attended drag strip programs.
